January Art Materials

I like to share an art material find or some other item that I am creating with each month. I have been playing around with mixed media painting and inks. As a result I have fallen in love with acrylic inks, specifically gold. Izink inks by Seth Apter are also nice. But the FW gold is so lovely and bold that it wins the day. I have added several more pearlescent FW colors to my collection. Loving them!

In my mixed media work I am using Daniel Smith watercolors, FW acrylic ink, Izink ink, Posca markers and metallic gouache paints by Zig Kuretake. Pretty much a mash up of colors, textures and fun.

Get your supplies out and play with them in ways you haven’t before. Color, draw, paint and explore; who knows what you will discover about them and yourself. I love abstract and have slowly been expanding what I do with it. There are a few larger canvases sitting in my closet that need paint…
