Vague vs Specific Dreams

Mermaid Lane, Rye

Is your dream a vague one or do you have specific things that are included? Have you sat down and mapped out what it is you are asking for from the Universe? A new car is great, but what car, what color, what year, model, etc.?

Wishing to go on a cruise or a trip to Europe is very different from knowing which cruise line you wish travel on, what route and even what room you will book. Europe takes on so many different flavors, such as is it a week in Paris, skiing in Switzerland or walking along the Getreidegasse in Salzburg, Austria or the Shambles in York, England. These are specific places, experiences and are tangible. Both the Shambles and Getreidegasse are remarkable and very different from each other, both are worth the visit.

Tim Ferriss once said on a podcast that; “Life punishes the vague wish and rewards the specific ask.”

Know what you want, how it will feel and what it looks like. Imagine yourself there, doing the activities on the cruise or walking the old streets, eating the food. Heck, go all out and imagine you are flying business class! Skip economy in your dreams and go first class all the way! Have fun with these specific asks, the more involved you are in the details, the ask, more likely it will happen.

Assignment: get busy making your ask as detailed and specific as possible. Write it out, how does it feel to be walking down one of these amazing streets or to be standing on the deck of a cruise ship with the wind in your face? What brought you to this place? What are you grateful for that made this ask happen?

Let me know how it turns out!
